Anti-counterfeiting campaigns

Anti-Counterfeiting Campaign

The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie is actively committed to the fight to end counterfeiting. Since 2009, it has implemented a series of measures to raise public awareness of a global problem that plagues the luxury industry in general and watchmaking in particular.

Information campaigns

In January 2009, the Foundation joined forces with the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry to launch an international campaign with visuals and a slogan declaring,
“Fake Watches are for Fake People.“ The campaign appeared across international magazines and on websites.

The Foundation is also partner to international anti-counterfeiting organisations including StopPiracy, Unifab and Indicam.

In 2011, the Foundation produces a new campaign, supported by a selection of short movies, made by ECAL students.

Short films

In 2011, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and ECAL University of Art and Design in Lausanne worked together to produce short films on the theme of counterfeiting in the watch segment. A short film competition was also launched online for the general public.
