Received an award for a chronometer.

Formulation of the secondary error (at medium temperatures) discovered by Ferdinand Berthoud in 1771. It is called the Dent anomaly or secondary error.
Construction of a clock for the Royal Exchange.
Construction of Big Ben continued by his son-in-law, Frederick who used the gravity escapement invented by Edmund Beckett Denison.
