Jacques Frédéric Houriet

1743-1830
Swiss clockmaker and chronometer maker.
Served his apprenticeship with his uncle, Abraham Gagnebin, then was apprenticed to Abraham Louis Perret-Jeanneret, master watchmaker in Le Locle, under the terms of a notarial letter of apprenticeship dated March 20th, 1761.
Worked in Paris for Jean and Pierre Le Roy, Romilly, Ferdinand Berthoud.
Became friends with Abraham Louis Breguet and Antide Janvier.
Then moved to Le Locle.
Brother-in-law of Frédéric Louis Favre-Bulle.

1814
Invented the spherical spiral.
