Antonio started his career in a pawn shop in Baltimore, buying everything over the counter from air-conditioners to Zodiac watches. Here he learned gold-smithing from a Master Goldsmith, the experience landed him a spot at a large jewelry store. This store was much like others in the area, selling mostly new goods with a small section for “estate goods”. This inspired the formal creation of @ateliervespoint an atelier dedicated to vintage and pre-owned jewelry, watches and accessories.

I feel like I’ve been a collector my whole life. Starting with gemstones at a young age and progressing to Mickey Mouse watches. Collect what makes you happy, not what the internet says is cool.

At 12 years old I fell in love at in the Dalí museum in Figueres. His pieces came in a range of mediums from jewelry to paintings, yet they all portrayed his vision profoundly without dilution. He also seemed to have an aura about him I appreciate.

I’ve never been a fan of poorly made goods, or what’s now known as “fast fashion”. As a jeweler I wanted to offer timeless designs, that could withstand the trials of life, and look good on anyone. They’re almost ready for public release.

In the world of watch/jewelry making I find the polishing process the most gratifying. You can’t be afraid to get a little dirty. After doing a few hundred watches, you eventually learn how to spot other polished watches.

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for older cars. Like in watchmaking, there are modern trail blazers, but most of the best pieces are from decades ago. Vintage design just had more soul and attitude.
