A TALK WITH @diamondmallard, Head of Global PR @piaget. With her roots in journalism and a knack for shaking things up, she’s redefining the watchmaking game with bold projects and fresh initiatives. Check out her top 5 picks that map her unique journey through the world of watches.

Trigger

I initially focused on jewelry, impressed by how tough it was to break into watchmaking. Then, a six-month assignment with a Swiss Maison came along. It was too ambitious to just skim the surface, so I visited the manufacture, caught the bug, and dug deeper—like opening a car.

Manufacture

My first manufacture visit was Piaget. Little did I know I’d be haunting that place years later. I remember someone from the Maison saying there was no need to visit the engineering area because it smelled like oil. That was actually my favorite part, and to this day, that smell still soothes me. ASMR.

Perseverance

Perseverance, passion, and curiosity are my key drivers in this industry. You don’t learn watches overnight; it’s a never-ending journey. The trick is to see each piece with fresh eyes, never assume you know everything, and just listen. The best stories come from artisans, and when they say, « oh, it’s not important», you know it’s golden.

Icon

Stepping into Piaget is like finding a gold mine, endless treasures everywhere. Working on the 150th anniversary was unforgettable, but meeting Mr. Yves Piaget left the biggest mark. I’ll always remember him in Monaco, with his Piaget cap and Polo, sharing memories with such humility—you’d want to spend hours with him.

Mineralogy

I got into this world as a huge natural science nerd, spending school breaks interning at the National History Museum. Then, I started hunting rocks in my garden. I even shared this story with my boss during my Vogue.fr interview—it was a make-or-break moment.
