Established in 1830, Baume & Mercier grew from the association of William Baume and Paul Mercier, in 1918 in Geneva. Business soon flourished. The company explored the styles of the Roaring Twenties to create ladies' watches that were icons of their day. Now part of the Richemont group, Baume & Mercier is known for its Hampton, Linea, Classima and Capeland watches, and positions itself as the brand for life's important moments.

Baume was awarded the highest ever score (91.9 out of 100) in the history of the Kew Observatory precision timing trials for its keyless chronometer with tourbillon escapement.
