By establishing a house of the same name in 1775, Abraham-Louis Breguet creates a pioneering and prestigious brand. Breguet punctuates the history of the company with innovations one of which opens a new world in watch-making: the tourbillon winder. Production has been based at l’Abbaye since 1976. It became part of the Swatch Group in 1999. Its creations have perpetuated the founder's spirit of innovation. A heritage that has taken its place in the contemporary world.

1775

The Neuchâtel man Abraham-Louis Breguet sets up his business in Paris in a small workshop on the quai de l'Horloge.

1801

Gaining of a patent for a new type of winder called a "Tourbillon".

1954

Breguet launches the Type XX with the retour en vol function or flyback, which was to enable pilots to make more accurate trajectory calculations.

2014

With a thickness of only 7 mm, the Breguet 5377 watch, is launched.
