Cartier Métiers d'Art Crash Tigrée Métamorphoses
When Cartier launched the Crash de Cartier in 1967, at the height of Swinging London, it broke all the rules of watch design with its asymmetrical shape. For the 2022 interpretation, the artisans at Cartier’s Maison des Métiers d’Art have explored the full potential of the dial and bezel for a watch that is as much a demonstration of the jeweller’s art as it is a show of expert enamelwork, in Cartier’s signature blues and greens. In bringing this Crash to life, the Maison’s enamellers have worked with opaque and translucent enamels, creating shaded effects or incorporating silver leaf and engraving. These stripes of champlevé enamel are interspersed with rows of brilliant-cut diamonds. A 50-piece limited edition, the Crash Tigrée recaptures the wildness of this Sixties era.
