Cartier’s Privé collection is where collectors will find the brand’s most iconic designs, reissued as limited editions. The Cloche is fifth in line, after the Crash, the Tank Cintrée, the Tonneau and the Tank Asymétrique. The “cloche” or “bell” shape made its Cartier debut in the 1920s, named for its resemblance to a counter-top service bell when turned horizontally. Apart from its unusual form, the Cloche has the distinction of being a wristwatch that allows the wearer to read the time without having to turn their arm, which can also be set on a table and used as a clock. Available in yellow gold, pink gold or platinum, all three versions are fitted with the manual-winding Calibre 1917. Limited to 100 pieces, the yellow gold rendition is worn on a black alligator strap.
