François-Paul Journe has accomplished the human dream to measure time, halt its flight, then set it free again in the élégante collection. The concept is an electromechanical movement which provides more than eight years of autonomy on the wrist. Should the watch remain motionless for more than 35 minutes, the hands stop turning in order to save power, leaving a microprocessor to continue to keep track of time. The moment the watch detects movement, it automatically resets to the correct time. Eight years in development, this hybrid movement this year resides inside a flat Tortue case in titanium with a Titalyt treatment obtained through electro-plasma oxidation. Harder, more resistant to wear and to corrosion, the élégante by F.P.Journe watch is also lighter. Not forgetting the luminescent sapphire dial, or the delicate row of diamonds along each edge of the case.
