Themes: Technical
Specificities: Tourbillon
This fourth materialisation of the partnership, since 2010, between watchmaker Bovet and Italian design studio Pininfarina puts a new spin on the design of the collection. The result is a flying tourbillon watch inside a case that suggests the glass enclosing an airplane cockpit. As always, the essential organs and functions of the movement are set out in perfect symmetry with, in order, the single barrel and power-reserve indicator at 10 o'clock, the hour and minute display at 2 o'clock, and the flying tourbillon in the space left free at 6 o'clock. Secured by a single bridge at the centre of its axis, the tourbillon has the distinction of a double-sided construction with the balance and spring on the dial side, and the escapement on the movement side. Three case options are available: 18k red gold, grade 5 titanium and grade 5 titanium with black DLC treatment. The Flying Tourbillon Ottantasei has a five-year guarantee.
