Kaen

The decorative arts and watchmaking's mechanical art become one in Kaen. For the dial and bridges of this unique piece, Kari Voutilainen worked with the Japanese Unryuan studio, renowned for its mastery of ancestral lacquerwork techniques. Over a thousand hours went into this masterpiece, which uses Kinpun (gold dust), Jyunkin-itakane (gold leaf), Yakou-gai (great green turban shell) and Awabi-gai (abalone shell). Bringing this watch to life is an hours-minutes-small seconds movement that was developed and made in Kari Voutilainen's atelier. East and West, and their unique expertise, are united in Kaen.
