Darkness has fallen on Geneva… an irresistible opportunity for another demonstration of virtuoso artistry from Vacheron Constantin, as we take a bird's-eye view of the city below. Traditional Grand Feu enamel becomes the backdrop for a sprinkling of precious powders of gold, pearl, platinum and diamond, meticulously applied by hand. Only a rare few artists are able to perform this technique. One is Yoko Imai, a Japanese artist; Vacheron Constantin has invited her to apply this expertise to the dial of its Métiers d'Art Villes Lumières Geneva watch – part of a limited edition with New York and Paris. Over a period of three months, between the sculpted gold outlines on the enamelled surface of the dial, tens of thousands of precious specks bring the aerial view of the city's nightscape to life. A twinkling of light to illuminate the birthplace of precious and technical watchmaking.
