Pelagos FXD GMT "Zulu Time"
Since the 1950s, Tudor has supplied dive watches to the French Navy. Three years after the first Pelagos FXD (named in reference to the robust, fixed strap bars), Tudor presents this new model for 2024. Developed for French Naval Aviation personnel, it tracks Zulu Time - the military name for Coordinated Universal Time UTC - in addition to local time and a third time zone. A bright orange hand makes one sweep of the dial every 24 hours to indicate Zulu Time; a central Snowflake hand points to local time, set forwards and backwards in one-hour increments and synchronised with the date display. A third time zone can be checked using the bidirectional rotating bezel and the Zulu Time hand.
Housed inside the 42mm case in grade 2 titanium, rated water-resistant to 200 metres, the in-house MT5652-U calibre guarantees reliability and precision thanks to its variable inertia balance, maintained by a sturdy traversing bridge with a two-point anchoring. Delivering 65 hours of power reserve, the movement is certified by the COSC in addition to the watch’s METAS Master Chronometer certification. The latter’s requirements include a maximum variation of 0/+5 seconds per day and the ability to resist magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
