RM 35-03 Automatic Winding Rafael Nadal
The fourth watch in Richard Mille’s RM-35 collection introduces a patented “butterfly” winding rotor that gives the wearer control over its geometry to suit their lifestyle and activity. A logical follow-up to the brand’s variable geometry rotor, it comprises two grade-5 titanium arms that are mounted with heavy metal weight segments which can be configured, via a pushbutton, for normal or sports winding. In normal mode, the segments convert the wearer’s arm movements into torque to wind the mainspring. In sports mode, when arm movement increases and the spring could be overwound, pressing the pusher activates gears which separate the arms. Because this moves the rotor’s centre of gravity back to its axis, the rotor is brought into balance and therefore stops winding. An indicator at 6 o’clock shows if the rotor is active or not. The function selector switches from winding mode to neutral or time-setting mode. Two versions are available, in TPT Quartz or TPT Carbon, in a range of colours.
