Only a talisman can ward off the evil eye, a portent of suffering and misfortune in every culture. Having imagined a new kind of memento mori in the RM052 Skull, Richard Mille offers its protection with the RM26-02 Evil Eye. Olivier Vaucher has hand-chiselled the flames of hell and the eye in 3N red gold. They are then coloured with grand feu enamel. Turn the watch over, and the extensively skeletonised baseplate reveals the other side of the Evil Eye, embedded in the mechanism. The flames glow redder still against the mat black of the TZP ceramic case.
