UR-112 "Aggregat"
This UR-112 Aggregat is the latest addition to Urwerk’s Special Project collection of watches that resolve a mechanical challenge. Digital hours and minutes are displayed on revolving triangular prisms under transparent cylinders. The twelve Super-Luminova-filled numerals for the jumping hours are engraved on the three sides of the four satellites. An identical system shows the minutes in five-minute increments. This is the “head” of the Aggregat. Opposite, inside the “body”, is the movement. Power is transferred through a cardan shaft, positioned perpendicular to the horizontal time display, via a complex assembly of gears at each of its ends. Unlocking the hinged cover on top of the watch reveals a digital seconds display. Skeleton numerals etched onto a hair-thin silicon disk appear and disappear from view under a magnifying lens next to the Aggregat’s only analog display, for the power reserve. A 25-piece limited edition in titanium.
