Established by Edouard Heuer in 1860, TAG Heuer is celebrating its 160th anniversary throughout 2020 with a slew of new Carrera models. This was no random choice. Created in 1963, the Carrera has become the flagship for technical innovation at the brand. The man behind this chronograph, with its clean lines, uncluttered dial and high performance engine, is none other than Jack Heuer, great-grandson of Edouard. The first in this series of anniversary watches, the Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition, was introduced in January, in Dubai. A limited edition of 1,860 pieces, it makes no secret of its vintage influences, borrowed from a 1964 Carrera, the 2447S with silver dial. The only notable differences are the diameter, increased from 36mm to 39mm, and the movement which goes from a Valjoux 72 to a Heuer 02 with column wheel, vertical clutch and 80 hours of power reserve.
