Imagined in 1912, the Tortue watch began with the idea of creating an elegantly simple form that became an unusual “tortoise-shaped” case, constructed around two sweeping curves. This new edition, in the Cartier Libre collection, adds a new dimension to a now classic watch, with a pattern of scales against a background of blue-tinted and light grey shades. The undulations of the snake are suggested with different materials: black and coral-coloured enamel, glistening mother-of-pearl, polished gold droplets and closed-set diamonds on the case and crown, for a watch that appears to coil, snake-like, around the wrist.
