Chronomaster Revival Shadow

Themes: Classic
Specificities: Chronograph
In the early 1970s, the story goes, not long after the launch of the El Primero movement, Zenith created a prototype for a manually-wound chronograph housed inside a black-treated steel case. A rarity at that time. A handful were made as prototypes, but the watch was never actually produced or released for sale. Fast forward 50 years when staff stumbled across the original prototype, stashed away in a box in a corner of the Zenith Manufacture attic. The decision was taken to bring it back to life… though not as a faithful reproduction of the archival watch. Instead, the Chronomaster Revival Shadow shows us what could have been. The 37mm case keeps the same dimensions and angled shape, but replaces steel with matte microblasted titanium. As for the mechanics, what else but an El Primero movement, visible through the back, to take the place of the manual-winding movement of the prototype. Upgraded by half a century, the result is this perfectly legible, furtive watch.
