This watch’s Calibre 588N is among the most complex ever by Breguet. Two independently powered tourbillons make a complete rotation once every minute. They are connected through a going train to a differential in the centre. The entire movement rotates once around the dial in 12 hours, which makes it possible for hours to be shown by the tourbillon bridge while minutes are conventionally displayed by a central hand. Bold in substance, this watch is nonetheless classic in style with gold components (a vanishing tradition), black-polished steel tourbillon cages, hand-finishing and guillochage in place of the traditional perlage on the movement. Engraved on the reverse side is a minutely detailed depiction of Abraham-Louis Breguet’s workshop on Quai de l’Horloge in Paris.
