The Kalpa was the first tonneau watch by Michel Parmigiani. First imagined in 2001, its hallmarks are the shape of its case, the teardrop lugs, its ergonomic contours and an uncluttered dial. The collection returns to the spotlight this year in a careful reinterpretation. The Kalpa Chronor is one of the standout pieces in this new generation. It contains the world's first ever tonneau-shaped, solid gold, automatic, integrated chronograph movement. Six years in development, this COSC-certified PF365 calibre beats at the high frequency of 36,000 vph to achieve one-tenth of a second accuracy. The dial carries indications for the hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph functions with a tachymeter and a date window. Manufactured as a limited edition of 50 pieces.
