As Harry Winston so rightly says, Opus is first and foremost a human journey in collaboration with independent watchmakers. It imagines new models that defy the laws of innovation and the way time is read. End 2015 revealed the fourteenth stage in this journey, in which Harry Winston has partnered with Franck Orny and Johnny Girardin to produce a remarkably playful timepiece that is full of visual surprises. In both its design and its automaton complication, Opus 14 looks every inch like a jukebox from the fabulous rock 'n roll era. The miniaturised mechanism houses a stack of three discs, located under a fourth disc showing local time. When the selector is activated, the chosen disc slides across to position itself on a second axis and reveal a second time zone, the date, or a star bearing the signature of Mr Harry Winston. Retrograde minutes complete the display.
