Reine de Naples Coeur 9825

Introduced for Valentine’s Day in 2021, Breguet’s Reine de Naples Coeur 9825 hides an ingenious mechanism that changes the heart shape of the minutes hand, positioned off-centre at 6 o’clock, as it moves around the egg-shaped dial, stretching as the hand moves across the top of the dial, then becoming smaller at the bottom. The latest invention from Breguet, this minute hand is composed of two independent arms which, thanks to a set of gears, are able to twist and form a heart that is extended at 12 o’clock and more rounded at 6 o’clock. This delightful indication — which is protected by four patents — is fitted with an oval cam that enables the arms to move at different speeds. So as not to detract from this beating heart, the lacquered white sapphire crystal dial is uncluttered, with a central window displaying the hours. Flange and bezel are embellished with 128 sparkling diamonds.
