Audemars Piguet introduces sand gold: an 18k gold alloy enriched with palladium and copper whose warm hues hover between white gold and rose gold, depending on the light. The bridges of Calibre 2972, unveiled in 2022 to mark the 50th anniversary of the emblematic Royal Oak, have been given a galvanic treatment to match this new material. Assembled from 271 components, this automatic movement incorporates a flying tourbillon and resides inside a 41mm case that measures a slender 10.6mm high, topped by an octagonal bezel. In addition to a comfortable 65-hour power reserve, this model's sculptural architecture is enhanced by skilful skeletonization. It is worn on an integrated bracelet, also in sand gold.
