Speedmaster Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award

Themes: Classic
Specificities: Chronograph, Vintage

This model pays tribute to the Apollo 13 mission, during which an oxygen tank exploded when the spacecraft was 200,000 miles from Earth. The mission was aborted and the extraordinarily resourceful crew safely returned. Snoopy, the mascot for the Apollo program, features on the dial, a reminder that in 1970 Omega was awarded a Silver Snoopy for its contribution to the safety and success of the Apollo missions. Two dial inscriptions – "What could you do in 14 seconds?" and "Failure is not an option" – make further reference to this historic mission. Snoopy returns on the case back, this time as a silver medallion, floating in blue enamel space surrounded by flakes of silver for the stars.
