X-TREM-1 – StingHD

Five years after the X.TREM-1, Christophe Claret has teamed up with the American brand StingHD for this new version, a memento mori in an eight-piece limited edition. The mechanics are as remarkable as ever, matching an inclined flying tourbillon carrying small seconds with retrograde hours and minutes shown by hollowed steel spheres that are moved by the force of two miniature cable-drawn magnets. What has changed is the aesthetic: a black chrome-plated aluminium skull with ruby eyes, designed by Sting HD, lords over the tourbillon carriage. The steel spheres are no longer contained in sapphire tubes but in steel ring-bound tubes. Completing this skull fest, a special treatment has been applied to the sapphire crystal which, when breathed on, reveals another grinning skull. The watch is delivered with two straps, both by StingHD.
