Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph

The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is the first watch in the Schaffhausen Manufacture's history to combine chronograph hours and minutes with the perpetual calendar moon-phase display in a subdial at 12 o'clock. To achieve this mechanical subtlety, IWC's engineers developed a completely new in-house movement - Calibre 89630, part of the 89000 family – which incorporates an aperture for moon phases in the chronograph counter. The dial loses none of its legibility in spite of the multiple displays, largely thanks to the choice of dark blue for the chronograph totaliser and moon phases, in contrast with the three other subdials for the perpetual calendar, including the small seconds combined with the month display. The four-digit year display appears in an aperture between 7 and 8 o'clock. This new style is proposed in an 18k red gold case with silvered dial, or in a stainless steel case with slate-coloured dial.
