Real Moon Stella Nebula

Christiaan van der Klaauw is behind this bespoke series, the Real Moon Stella Nebula, made for Tokyo retailer Stella Polare, the exclusive distributor of some of the most sought-after independent watchmakers. At 6 o'clock on the dial, a three-dimensional rotating orb set with black and white diamonds is the most precise moon-phase display ever in this form, requiring adjustment by a single day after 11,000 years. Equally remarkable is the slice of ammolite in the centre of the dial. First discovered by the Blackfoot American Indians, it was given gemstone status as recently as 1981. Each stone is uniquely coloured with multiple hues which are drawn out by skilful cutting, a responsibility which in this instance fell to the Canadian mining company Korite, the uncontested ammolite specialist. The Real Moon Stella Nebula also comes in a white gold case, with or without diamonds.
